Summary
Objective
The principle aim of this project is to investigate the main features, special requirements, processes and fundamental methodologies of deploying e-government in developing countries and to illustrate this in the case of Sultanate of Oman.
Project Requirements
To address the aim, the following requirements were selected: Review the main features and special requirement of e-government. Compare the deployment methods of e-government in developed countries and developing ones. Identify the main steps/processes and methodologies to deploy e-government. Illustrate these methodologies and processes in the case of Sultanate of Oman.
Identify the Internet situation, public services and cultural differences in developing countries.
Evaluate the e-government services in general and emphasise this evaluation in developing countries.
Produce electronic resource to enable the findings of the project to be viewed by information system students (IS students) and general public who may have an interest in this subject.
Overview
The two chapters of the project present the motivation behind this project and an introductory to the addressed topic of Electronic Government. Reviewing on fundamental features and obligations in deploying electronic governments can be found in Chapter Three. Chapter Four gives an exclusive case studies and the discussion related to them. Phases and stages to install e-government in developing countries will be declared in Chapter Five. Chapter Six presents a detailed empirical study about installing digital government in Oman. Highlighting principle issues affecting e-government is presented in Chapter Seven. Chapter Eight, deals with the website implementation which designed by the author of this report. Evaluating the report will be declared in Chapter Nine. Conclusions and further studies
provided in Chapter Ten.
