INTRODUCTION

1.1     Background of the Study

Pre-Nursery and Nursery Levels in Educational Services is the system by which young pupil ages between 1-3 years for the pre-nursery while age 3-5 years for the nursery are enrolled to undertake and acquire knowledge starting from their young age. Pre nursery stage is the hardest stage of building up small babies for further learning. The programme is tedious in the sense that people engaging in this venture find it very difficult to cope with especially where they are many babies to take care of. Pre-nursery is the first step in any human being nowadays as far as learning is concerned. Parents who engage their babies in pre nursery level do that as a result of lack of chance, hence they are always busy with one thing or the other, if not work, it will be business such parents find it as the best option for them hence they cannot control their babies while working or while doing their businesses. Babies who engage in pre-nursery level learn toilet manners and eating habit and other habits that they can learn will help them grow. Persida and Timeea (2010) stated that marketing is a continuous process which evolved in the direction of satisfying the more and more sophisticated need of the customers. In the nursery section of the programme also it is difficult for people taking care of them to cope up with. Long man dictionary of contemporary English defined nursery as a place where young children are taken care of during the day while their parents are at work, shopping or doing some sort of things that will not allow them take care of their children. So they are taken to that place to allow the pupil learn and also to allow their parents do their work or business. The nursery education can also be classified as day care centre, where children between the ages of 3 and 5 years are framed in many aspects of educational services. As the days are passing, education is becoming one of the basic needs of people, more, and more people are in favor of education and all of them realize the need to be educated in life. Because of the above reason, the parents try very hard to provide better educational facilities to their children so that they can have a successful further. They love to provide their children the best of educational facilities at any cost. The parents any how provide their children with the best education, it does not matter for them the cost effect, the only thing that they are interested is how to provide better education to their children. Current global scenario has implemented the concept of nursery and pre-nursery school education. TO give their children the best and latest in terms of education, parents tend to provide pre-nursery and nursery education to their children.

1.2   Statement of the Problem

Pre-nursery and nursery level in educational activities is set up to enhance the uplift of the pupils in their early ages, it is to allow the child to be equipped to face learning for future. It is the starting point in educational services which if properly managed will boast the moral of the child for further leaning. Presently, pre-nursery and nursery education faced a lot of challenges. Proprieties of pre-nursery and nursery education now faced with the problem of administering and controlling the children. The prominent problem faced by the care takers is the controlling aspect of the system. Some of the children can never stop making noise, some can never stop crying, toilet manner and its association is nothing to write home about. Some of the children will be busy playing out side their premises while the person taking care of them as still busy taking care of other children as a result to locate them will be difficult. Further more, the fees charged will not be affordable by the parents. In view of these problems, the researcher tried to evaluate the marketing of educational services in presentation nursery and primary school Enugu.

1.3   Objectives of the Study

The main objective of the study is marketing educational services in pre-nursery and nursery level in Enugu metropolis.

Other objectives include:

  1. To know if presentation nursery and primary school apply marketing concept in the control of children in their school.
  2. To know if the strategies applied in the control of the children are effective and efficient in presentation nursery and primary school.
  3. To know whether the teachers are qualified to handle the children in presentation nursery and primary school.
  4. To know it the parents are satisfied with the services rendered by the teachers in presentation nursery ad primary school.
  5. To see a way of enhancing the management and performance of proprietors of pre-nursery and nursery education in Enugu

1.4   Research Hypothesis

Ho: Presentation nursery and primary school do not apply marketing concept

H1: presentation and primary school apply marketing concept.

Ho: The strategies applied in the control of the children are not effects and efficient in presentation and primary school.

H2: The strategies applied in the control of the children are effective and efficient in presentation nursery and primary school.

Ho: Teachers of presentation nursery and primary school are not qualified.

H3: Teachers of presentation nursery and primary school are qualified.

Ho: Parents of children of presentation nursery and primary school are not satisfied with the services rendered by the teachers.

H4. Parents of children of presentation nursery and primary school are satisfied with the services rendered by the teachers.
