Topic Description

Process Modelling at the DNA Laboratory at St James’s Hospital

Summary
This is a process-modelling project designed to try and reduce the apparent complexity observed within the DNA laboratory at St James’s Hospital. It models all the business processes within the sample pathway using UML so that weaknesses within the processes can be identified. Following the identification of these weaknesses, suggestions for process improvements are evaluated using “what if” scenarios which determine the recommendations that should be put forward for process improvements.
