Summary/Abstract
This project represents an attempt to create a robot that can, with the use of a special ball and pitch,
perform simple football skills, such as dribbling and shooting and eventually compete against another
robot in a game of robotic football. The first part of this has been achieved, but the robot that has been
created, is not yet ready to compete against another. However, this project gathers a lot of useful
information with regard to robotic football and how to implement the skills involved. The minimum
requirements have been achieved and the end product can automatically calibrate its sensors, sense
walls and pitch gradient, locate and collect the ball, bring it back to the start position and also be
aware of its position on the pitch after a manoeuvre. The project brings together aspects of artificial
intelligence, mechanics and programming.
