Summary
The aim of this project was to create a prototype web based learning system (WriteRight) to help
people with dyslexic problems. This subject was selected as the author’s younger brother is a
dyslexia sufferer. In order to develop the prototype, dyslexia was first researched to find best practice
learning techniques adaptable to an online learning system. A methodology for system design was
found and applied in order to gain a list of system requirements, which were then used to build a
prototype, which was evaluated. Finally the project was evaluated.
The system prototype can be seen at www.writeright.co.uk.
This project builds on knowledge gained in HCI, Programming, Database, Project Management,
Information System, Professional Development, E-business and Internet Systems Technologies
modules.
