📄 Project Abstract

A power outage alarm system is a device used in sounding warning in the occasion of a power failure with built electrical connectors and a temporary source of light. The device is housed in a molded plastic enclosure or a wooden enclosure in a rectangle or square shape and includes a power failure alarm and sometimes an emergency light, night light and flash light. All unit functions are all automatic once the unit has been Plugged into a standard 120v receptacles; thus leaving one receptacle still available for use. The embodiment of the device is specifically intended to alert and notify the user of a power outage. The device utilizes logic circuitry to determine if a power failure or improper set up has occurred. Numerous electrical appliances in our homes and commercial businesses require a continuous supply of electrical power in other to function such as refrigerators, freezers, computer and other critical medical equipment. Most of these devices may become in operable through power failure, accidental unplugging, turning off the power switch or a trapped circuit breaker, these occasion can happen without becoming noticeable and therefore the need for a power outage alarm system is recommended
